Hello everyone my name is Ryan Maune!

A little about my story of volleyball. I am from Washington Missouri. I helped start the boys program at Borgia in 2011. During high school I lead the team in kills, service aces, digs, and blocks while also being an All-State Selection. I received multiple offers to play in college at various levels, DI, D2, and NAIA. I decided that I wanted to stay close to Washington for my first year because I wanted to be close to my grandparents. I committed to Hannibal LaGrange University. I only played one season at Hannibal LaGrange where I started as a freshman. After my first year my family moved to Texas and I decided to join them. After spending a year in Texas, coaches noticed I was not playing and not committed anywhere for the following year. Schools again reached out. I ultimately decided to commit to Lourdes University in Ohio.

In 2016 I appeared in all matches and received First Team Conference Honors while also being named Newcomer of the Year. I had an outstanding hitting percentage of .455% while registering 263 kills, and led the team in blocks. In 2017 I played in every match, was voted First Team All Conference, Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All Academic, Capital One All American, Conference Player of the Year, and First Team NAIA AVCA All American. I lead the team with a team leading .425% hitting percentage while executing 278 kills. I also lead the team in service aces and blocks. My senior year I tore my labrum in my shoulder and did not play. This lead me to coaching. A couple years later a pro leagued formed in the states called the NVA. I played 2 years for the Texas Tyrants. Shortly after Lloy Ball, USA Olympic gold medalist, started a league called the VLA. I am currently playing in that league with the team Dallas Dawgs.

My mentor is Mauro Grasso. He was the Brazilian national team coach. He also coached professionally in Qatar, Israel, Dubai, Puerto Rico and Germany. He was also my coach when I was playing pro. I coached for Toledo volleyball club in Toledo Ohio. I coached, 15’s, 16’s and 17’s, as well as ran many camps and clinics. At the time we were the 11th ranked club in the states number 1 in Ohio. After graduating, I moved back to Texas. While here I’ve coached at numerous clubs, been offered numerous high school volleyball coaching positions, and ran a lot of clinics as well as college clinics. A lot of my players have been going D1, D2, and NAIA. When my players come back for the summer we usually run privates together. I have a very good relationship with all the parents that I’ve worked with as well as the players. I have no problem going into the gym at any hour with my players to get them the reps that they need to be successful. As well as off the court to make sure that they’re successful in the classroom and making the right decisions. I have been blessed to have some really good coaches in my life as well as work with a lot of coaches through my career.
